🗓️ DATES FOR THE DIARY
If you want a walk that feels properly varied without needing a full day or big hills, this Knutsford circular is a great shout. Starting right from the town (or station), it quickly leaves the busy centre behind and opens out into quieter countryside on the edge of Tatton Park.
You get a bit of everything here - open farmland, gentle paths and those wide Cheshire views that always feel bigger than you expect. It’s not a “wow, look at that peak” kind of walk, but it’s consistently pleasant and easy to follow, which is exactly why it works.
The route loops back neatly into Knutsford, which makes the whole thing feel like a proper outing rather than just a leg-stretch. It’s the kind of walk you can do without overthinking, then roll straight into a coffee or a pint afterwards.

Practical bits:
Distance: ~4-5 miles (6.5-8 km)
Time: 1.5-2.5 hours
Start point: Knutsford town centre or railway station
Terrain: Field paths, quiet lanes and some gravel tracks
Difficulty: Easy-moderate
